Sam George, one of the sponsors of the private members’ bill before parliament has backed John Dramani Mahama for expressing his position on homosexuality.
John Dramani Mahama, while speaking to the clergy in the Eastern region disclosed that his faith is against LGBTQI+.
He said that, as a result of his faith, he does not support anything LGBTQI+.
Reacting to the position expressed by the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sam George who has sponsored an anti-LGBTQ+ bill in parliament, congratulated the former President.
He indicated that the position expressed by the former President is a hallmark of a true leader.
“Dear@JDMahama, this is bold. This is decisive. This is leadership. Standing for what one believes in. I have never doubted your position on the matter, especially when you were attacked as President in Scotland in 2016 over your position on homosexuality. Posterity would remember you for good. The Country stands with you on this Sir. 🦁🇬🇭” his tweet on X read.
Meanwhile, LGBTQI+ advocates have taken on the former president for the position, with some saying he is just preying on religious Ghanaians to earn votes.
