Accra 2023: Logistics delay wasn’t the LOC or anybody’s fault- Ghana Volleyball President

President of the Ghana Volleyball Association, George Tettey, says delay in the supply of logistics to Ghanaian athletes for the 13th African Games isn’t the fault of bodies connected to the competition especially the Local Organizing Committee (LOC).
He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports as concerns over the late provision of equipment to athletes to compete in the Games continue to draw the ire of Ghanaians.

Ghana’s National Volleyball Teams complained about the lack of equipment to aid their preparation for the African Games with veteran player Seidu Ajanaku speaking about the team not getting access to protective stocking.
However, Ghana’s Volleyball Association President believes a hint of fatigue due to alleged unfair scheduling is the reason for Ghana’s quarterfinal exits in the men’s and women’s division respectively and not issues connected to equipment.

“Logistics in general delayed not only for volleyball and it is not the doing of the LOC or anybody. What I can say about the team is that they had played three strong matches in a row while these people (opponents) for those days so how do you expect that we match them boot for boot after we came out of a game (against Algeria in the round of 12 elimination) next game was against Morocco…it wasn’t fair.”
