The Nine suspects from the Ada clan were admitted to bail in the sum of GH$800,000 each with two sureties each.

Tettey Okoso, aka Aplaku macho – the leader of the “Ada faction’, was admitted to bail with Eight other suspects, Nii Ada aka Omoni, Oko Mensah, Tetteh Quaye aka Miller, Ayiku. Obu Amrah, Tettey Solar , Nartey and Koft Narteh who are all linked to the Clashes which led to the untimely death of Christopher Kotoka the uncle of Felix Kotoka the heir to the Aplaku throne.
Aplaku land and chieftaincy disputes has been ongoing for the past decades and has led to destruction of properties and economic activities of the community. Factions from the Ada clans has vowed not to allow the enstoolment of the Mr Felix Kotoka the legitimate heir to the Aplaku throne and would go ahead to interrupt any durbar held with Gun to show their seriousness.
The Nine suspects from the Ada clan were admitted to bail in the sum of GH$800,000 each with two sureties each. This was when their case came for hearing at the court presided over by Rosemary Baah Tosu on Monday (April 3, 2023).
They pleaded not guilty to the charge of conspiracy to riot with weapons, rioting with weapons and causing death of one Christopher Kotoka and injuries of others. As part of the bail conditions, they are to report to the Bortianor Police station twice every week.
The suspects were charged with conspiracy to riot with weapons, rioting with weapons and causing death of a member of the Sempe Roval Family and injuries, Addo Bulley, Koio Ofori, Ni Armahtey body a guard and others who are said to be receiving treatment.
According to Director-General of Police Public Affairs, SUPT. Grace A. Akorfi, “the violence spread across some sections of Aplaku and we managed to stabilise the situation.” The police however assured that they are actively working to clamp down on all miscreants in the area while investigations unfold.
The accused persons are to reappear on August 8, 2023.
